RECORD STORE DAY 2018!
We want this RSD to be the biggest and best that Lynchburg has ever seen. In the past year since moving to Jefferson Street we have seen the vinyl community growing and are meeting a lot of new people.
Record Store Day is a day of recognition and celebration of small independent record stores across the world. Many artists team of with Record Store Day to offer limited edition, one of a kind releases that can only be found at participating independent record stores. We will be working hard to make sure we get a good spread of what's available for you. The releases are cool and all but this is a day for you all to show your support to your local record stores. We will have tons of cool stuff in addition to the RSD releases for you to pick up while you're here. We'd love to see you and anyone you know that collects vinyl or who is interested in collecting vinyl.
Mark your calendar for April 21st. We will open at 9am that day and be open until 7pm.
- 100 + exclusive releases
- Bargain Bin BOGO sale! $1, 2$, $3 records are BOGO free all day Saturday.
- Double Punch Day - get 2 punches on your Frequent Spinner Card if you spend $10 or more in store that day.
THE WLDLFE + OCEANIC + A N X
The Wldlfe are a band out of Indianapolis, IN dedicated to bringing the new age of pop music. They released their debut EP, titled "New", in March of 2016. It was featured on Noisetrades "New and Notable" list, and also rose to the top page of the Pop "Most Downloaded" list on Noisetrade in a few days. They followed up this EP with a single ("Text Me?") in Fall 2016, and a second EP (titled "ILY") in February of 2017.
As young souls, The Wldlfe want to bring pop music a more honest quality by telling stories through their lyrics while keeping catchy melodies in the fold.
This group is a band to be looking out for as they begin their ascent to the top of the pop music mountain.

Suburban Living was birthed from the heart of Virginia expat Wesley Bunch back in 2011. These days, the project is a full-band affair that boasts two LP's, a few singles, & US tours with the Likes of Frankie Rose. Their sound is chock full of hooks that "cut clear lines into space then echo outward. (It) maintains a lean energy under all the haze." (Pop Matters)
Local support will be provided by TLVS & newcomers Friendlie, who were recently featured by Speakertree as a band to watch in 2018!

TLVS - This art-rock trio has become a favorite of Lynchburg’s thriving musical scene thanks to their ambient instrumentals that leave their performances feeling more like flowing art than traditional rock music. Join us for an evening of atmospheric electronica with Sound of Ceres, Advance Base, and TLVS.
About the Bands:
SOUND OF CERES (Joyful Noise)
There is no one true self. With every choice you make, your story changes. Between the potential and the actual, there exist an infinite number of variations on who you have been.
In concert, The Twin (out now on Joyful Noise) evolves and changes nightly; no two versions of this immersive audio-visual experience are alike. Lasers and fiber optics pierce the darkness and smoke, creating a web of ever-changing constellations. Stars, circles, and double-helixes dance around the band, bouncing off reflective costumes and outstretched hands. Responding fluidly to each unique environment where they perform, Sound of Ceres transport the audience into the heart of the great cosmos via a mystifying display of lights and effects, coupled with hypnotizing sound.
Just as the various members of Sound of Ceres combine ideas and energies to fashion their magical world, everything they create together – words and music, video, live performance art – interlocks to tell the whole story. And when all the elements align, The Twin unlocks a universe of endless possibilities and infinite outcomes. You'll never experience it the same way twice.
ADVANCE BASE (Orindal)
Owen Ashworth used to release his lo-fi keyboard pop under the name Casiotone for the Painfully Alone, but these days he calls it Advance Base.
Walking the line between electronic music & traditional singer/songwriter forms, Ashworth writes minimalist, heavy-hearted, & nostalgia-obsessed songs of longing & regret. His conversational, baritone vocals sing stories of hard-luck Midwesterners & their demons amid swirls of electric pianos, Omnichords, drum machines & samples.
Advance Base's second album, Nephew in the Wild, was named #1 Indie Pop album of 2015 by PopMatters.
TLVS (Harding Street Assembly Lab)
Yes, it's an acronym ("The Late Virginia Summers").
No, the band won't expound on what their moniker may reference.
Having survived a handful of lineup changes, TLVS is currently a three piece working with a palette of guitars / drums / keys. Sonically, the group plays off both the shoegazing bliss of the 90's & the ambient texture of 21st century post rock.
"It's avant garde without needing a decryption"
- INDY Weekly
"TLVS is an ambient cosmic ride, touring all the planets and stars and leaving nothing out. You feel all the universe move around you as you're pulled in."
- Get Off The Coast
We are bringing the jams!

Record Store Day is a day where Indie Record Stores are celebrated. The way this is done is by large name artists releasing Recod Store Day releases on vinyl that are only available in limited quanities and ONLY through participated Indie Record Stores like yours truly, Speakertree.
Most of these releases stay hush hush until the date gets closer. Plan to be at the shop right when we open that morning at 9am because the pickings are slim but the finds will be great.
This is the communities time to show their love and support for their local indie record shop. We'd love to see you there.
The shop will only be open from 9AM-2PM because we will have a Pop-Up shop at Lynchstock Music Festival that day in Riverfront Park in Downtown Lynchburg.
